Early Life and Education

Sanam was born on August 27, 1991, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Pakistani parents, and her family later relocated to Lahore during her childhood. She earned her degree in philosophy from the University of Central Punjab.

Family

Sanam has a younger sister, Zaib Chaudhry, who is also an actress.

Marriage

Sanam married US-based Pakistani singer Somee Chohan on November 27, 2019, in an intimate Nikkah ceremony in Lahore. The couple has two children: a son, born in October 2020, and a daughter, born in September 2021.

Career

Sanam made her television debut in a supporting role in “Mazung De Meena Sheena” (2012), followed by her television debut on Hum TV with “Ishq Hamari Galiyon Mein” (2013). She gained wider recognition and critical acclaim for “Aasmanon Pay Likha” (2013) and “Zindagi Tujh Ko Jiya” (2016).

She went on to appear in “Bhool” (2014) alongside Sarah Khan, which earned her a Best Soap Actress nomination at the 3rd Hum Awards, and took on a lead antagonist role in “Ghar Titli Ka Par” (2017). Her other notable work includes “Kitni Girhain Baqi Hain,” “Hawain” (2018), “Ab Dekh Khuda Kya Karta Hai” (2018) opposite Danish Taimoor, and the lead role in “Meer Abru” (2019), her final drama before stepping away from acting. She also appeared in the films “Ishq 2020” and “Jackpot,” both released in 2018.

Leaving the Industry

In 2021, Sanam announced on social media that she was stepping away from acting to focus on her faith, describing the decision as turning toward Allah and thanking her family for their support. In June 2025, she indicated she would be open to a return to acting if a project’s message aligned with her religious values and allowed her to work in hijab.
