Hafeez’s wife’s name is Nazia Hafeez and he has two daughters named Amal and Iman. He currently lives with his family in Sargodha, Punjab.

Cricket Career

Hafeez started his career with domestic cricket in 1998, after which he was selected for the 2003 World Cup squad. where he played in the tournament, but the match did not go well for him as Pakistan was knocked out in the first round.

Test career

He played 55 Test matches in his career in which he scored 3652 runs at an average of 37.64. Hafeez has the most innings of 224 runs in his Test career. In his Test career, Hafeez scored ten centuries and 12 half-centuries. He bowled in 77 innings of Test matches in his career and took 52 wickets. His average with the ball is 34.11.

 Hafeez retired from the Test format in December 2018 after completing 55 Test matches. But he continued to represent Pakistan in T20 and ODIs.

One Day format

He played in 218 ODIs and scored 6614 runs at an average of 32.90. His high score in ODIs was 140. He scored 11 centuries and 38 half-centuries in ODIs. Hafeez also took 139 wickets in 177 innings and bowled at an average of 38.84 in the ODI format. He made his best bowling innings of 4/41.

T20 format

Hafeez played 91 matches in T20 format. He scored 1992 runs at an average of 25.21. He scored 11 half-centuries in T20 format. His highest score in T20 was 86. In T20 format, Mohammad Hafeez bowled in 61 matches and took 54 wickets of his career.

Muhammad Hafeez As captain

Hafeez was given the responsibility of captaining the T20 International during the 2012 World Cup. Under his captaincy, Pakistan played in the semi-finals and lost to Sri Lanka. Then came a dispute with Pakistani all-rounder Abdul Razzaq. Following the controversy, the Pakistan Cricket Board decided to transfer the captaincy to another player. During his captaincy, he became the highest scoring player for Pakistan. Through his captaincy, he led the Pakistani team to second place in the international rankings. After leaving the captaincy, Imran Khan criticized him. Under his leadership Pakistan Cricket played 29 matches and won 17 matches.

Retirement

On January 3, 2022, he retired from international cricket. He told a press conference that he was retiring without any pressure. In his 18-year career, he saw many difficult times but he got off the track to make Pakistan famous. After his retirement, Shahid Afridi had said that Hafeez did not retire from the heart.
